Cape Verde is the hottest place on the planet for blue marlin. Not only do they get amazing numbers of fish, but it would have to be one of the best chances you will get to catch a grander. I have very fond memories of this location. The water might get a little rough from time to time, but the fishing is phenomenal!! Both boats in the Happy Hooker fleet have incredible catch records - both boats have caught granders! The Happy Hooker 1 has 11 granders to her credit along with two Blue Marlin World Cup victories. Captain Berno and Captain Simon have outstanding catch records and will make you feel right at home putting you on multiple fish day after day. Captain Simon landed a 1017lb blue in June 2012 on the Bonze Oceano Grimmel and then followed it up with a 1222lb blue in July 2012 on a Bonze Oceano Mongreld Dog. |
